Bertan kempsu/Bertta’s drugstore

Kyläläiset puhuivat Bertan kempsusta. Talossa oli Bertan kemikalio; aikaisemmin siinä oli myös apteekki ja lääkärivastaanotto. –Alemmassa kuvassa näkyy viereisen talon päädyssä Kansallis-Osake-Pankin nimi. Kuvassa oleva valkolakkinen mies on ruotsalainen lääkäri, joka hoiti lottien Selkeelle perustamaa sairaalaa sotavuosina.

The villagers talked of Bertta’s ”kempsu”. There was Bertta’s drugstore in the house; previously there also lied a chemists’ and a doctor’s reception. -In the lower picture you can see the native-condominium-bank’s name in the end of the next door house. The man with the white hat in the picture is a Swedish doctor, who took care of a hospital founded by the lottas (Lotta svärd oranization) in Selkee during the wartime.
